The Realtor People Are Looking For
Tweet |
What are people looking for in a real estate agent? For that matter, what are people looking for in any person no matter what the career field? Of course, they’re wanting an expert. Right? They’re wanting someone who “knows the business.” But they’re also wanting a whole lot more than that. No matter what the level of expertise, people are also wanting someone who’ll go to bat for them, who’ll keep their best interests in mind (ahead of their own). They’re also wanting someone with integrity, who’ll be up front with them, who’ll prioritize and listen to their needs and then make their buying or selling dreams come true. And the list could go on and on as regards what people are looking for in a realtor. And even though it’s a tall order, I guess the bottom line is we need to be that person people are looking for. And then when they run into others who are ready to buy or sell, it’ll be your name they mention and not for the wrong reasons.

There are two types of real estate agents. There are delegates and there are trustees. The delegate is the agent who believes that representing there clients means that they listen and carry out their explicit instructions. This agent prides himself/herself on listening skills and feels that they are caring out their clients wishes exactly.
The trustee believes that the client has hired them for their expertise. Therefore, the agents plan of action and marketing strategy are his/her main agenda. They feel that they have the tools and resources to get the job done. This agent prides himself/herself on making things happen they feel furthers their clients goals.
