History in the Making

I don't know about you, but it fascinates me to consider what happened on certain days in the past. Those "This Day in History" clips on the radio, TV, in newspapers (and even on the internet now - click on the preceding title for history.com's version - it's cool!) have a way of catching my attention and peaking my interest. And when I find out about particular events or famous people and their experiences and what day they took place on, I'm reminded that the things that happened in history - it was pretty much on a day like any other day. I mean, the sun came up, people got out of bed, they put on their pants one leg at a time (the pants wearers that is!) and/or their makeup (for the ladies) and then they went out into the world and simply made history. Some men and women were doing it purposefully while others - they were either in the right place at the right time or vice versa - they were in the wrong place at the wrong time. Of course, we're entering a week where one of the most infamous events of all of time took place. It was on November 22, 1963 that John Fitzgerald Kennedy, the 35th President of the United States, was gunned down in Dallas, Texas by Lee Harvey Oswald. And then what about momentous events in real estate history? - I had this question come to my mind. The National Association of Realtors actually has a blog that highlights "This Month in Real Estate History," I don't know if you knew. The preceding title is a live link to it. Check it out in between your making history yourself with that next big land or home deal. But the real estate business is much more than that. Isn't it? It's about helping others find their dream home or piece of property. Now that's history in the making.
