What Sets You Apart?

What sets you apart?
What sets San Francisco apart is the Golden Gate Bridge. What sets Sacramento apart is the NBA Kings (for a little while longer at least ~ updated in 2013). What sets Yosemite National Park apart is Half Dome.
And what sets a real estate professional apart (or any other career professional, white or blue collar) is: _______ .
I really do want you to fill in the blank on your own.
And then do more than that. Can someone (other than you) pinpoint what it is that sets you apart (without you telling them)?
Ask somebody. Ask the person in the desk sitting next to you. Ask your husband (or wife) or significant other or friend or parent.
So what was their answer? Was it close? Did they nail it the first time? Or were they just way, way off?
That which sets someone apart (or something or some place) is a particular and/or unique characteristic that can't be found with anyone (or anywhere) else.
Ours is an age of sameness. Why should somebody choose you versus another?
I'll tell you why. It's because you're working hard to stand out. It's because you're putting your full energy towards being a cut above the rest. It's because you have something to offer that no one else can.
People see it (and they know it, too).

I am working hard to stand out, but also don't want to alienate everyone, so I am bringing them all with me. We can all shine together!
Yes, this is something to strive for. I'm tired of the same cookie cutter attitude. Unfortunately, we're living in a society, that looks at you sideways if you actually use your own mind to think. We need to relearn how to ride above. And to Jodi, great idea, but you are going to alienate somebody. Everyone isn't going to agree our like what you're doing.
As the maxim goes, "If it were easy, everyone would be doing it." It takes hard work, determination, and focused effort to achieve a level of excellence that distinguishes one from the crowd. Just as importantly, we absolutely must demonstrate a genuine concern for the wellbeing of others as we pursue our passions and unique callings. A sincere desire to help others, combined with excellence, takes one far.... It seems like you embody both of these qualities, Mike! Kudos and keep up the fantastic and relevant content. Cheers to an exceptional blogger!
