Making the Grade
Tweet |
I would like to welcome you to an evaluation. Oh, I know. You weren’t quite ready for this. You didn’t come here thinking someone was going to grade you. But you’re here. And I am. You get an “A” grade for that smile. You always greet people with a smiling and happy face. (Right?) You are cheerful and that rubs off on clients. Makes them feel comfortable. Excellent job. You make eye contact, too. (Open your eyes.) That is very good. It shows you’re engaged and care. You get an “A” for eye contact, too. (That’s 2 “A’s” so far.) Phone etiquette is next. You answer promptly. (Before the third ring.) You are confident. You don’t sound put off or self-focused when you talk. You communicate clearly. You offer help. “A” number three. The next area is tasks and work assignments. You do well here, also. Of your assigned tasks in recent weeks all have been completed and all have been done well. You have gone beyond the call of duty (as usual). That’s “A” number four. One final area to go. Showing up. Not a single time late. Not much more needs to be said here. You aced it. All five areas:
- Smile
- Eye contact
- Phone etiquette
- Tasks and work assignments
- Showing up
