6 Things Getting Caught in a Dust Storm and the Challenging Real Estate Market Have in Common (plus video)

One of the most incredible videos of the 2011 Phoenix, Arizona dust storm is below. Watching it I couldn't help but think of the following quick list that I'm convinced speaks to the challenges of the real estate market of our day (don't forget to watch the video as it relates to the list)...
6 Things Getting Caught in a Dust Storm and the Challenging Real Estate Market Have in Common:
1. Some saw it coming.
2. Some didn't see it coming.
3. Some were prepared for it.
4. Some weren't prepared for it.
5. When it hit, it got a lot darker than some of us thought.
6. It eventually passes and things get back to normal.

As I watched the video one thing was evident to me: the man was driving his car right into the path of danger. In fact, he was the only one not heeding safety and the only car going in this direction. It made me wonder: was he smart going into the storm so he could risk his life in order to enhance his reputation as a video journalist? Or was he stupid, because he threatened the lives of those who care about him, and the rescue workers who may have to pick him up from a mangled car? What do you think?
As I watched the videos on national news I remarked to my husband “that’s one city we’d never want to live in! Imagine the damage to the air conditioner units and the cars from all the dust, not to mention the impact on your lungs. Just a few days ago it was 120 degrees there. Not for me!”
Thanks for the blog post Mike!
