How To Repurpose Content Across Multiple Social Media Platforms

HOW EASY IT IS
I want to show you how easy it is to repurpose (recycle) a blog post to use across multiple social media platforms (SlideShare, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook).
To do so I chose a holiday season blog post from four years ago entitled: "7 Things Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer Can Teach Us About Life."
(To read, click here.)
RIGHT INGREDIENTS
"7 Things Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer Can Teach Us About Life" has all the right ingredients for re-purposing since we want clicks (right?!):
(1) A well-known story,
(2) A short intro and
(3) A quick list to scan through.
SLIDESHOW
As it has to do with the slideshow recycle uploaded to SlideShare (see below), I created that using OpenOffice Impress (which is the equivalent of Microsoft PowerPoint).
(OpenOffice is a free download and free to be used commercially.)
VIDEO
From there, I saved each of the slides from the slideshow in OpenOffice Impress as png files and then used Windows MovieMaker to create a video to upload to YouTube (see below).
VISUALS
As it has to do with Instagram, Twitter and Facebook, I used Canva to create visuals with the correct dimensions per platform and then just shared the quick list of 7 points on each (see below).
COMPETENCY
And I guess the main thing to sum it up is the importance of developing a level of competency with the tools that are available (OpenOffice, MovieMaker, Canva).
Combine competency with creativity and you're there!
I hope you enjoy what's below. :)
