Mother Lode Real Estate "Must Reads" for December

This blog post is the second in a continuing monthly series where I'll pass on some information of interest that you may not get the opportunity to see otherwise. Take a moment to check out the four articles below. The last two are about how to use Twitter - the emerging (and continuing to emerge) social media extraordinaire - even for the real estate business!

The Changing Tide of Educating Real Estate Agents by Tom Royce of The Real Estate Bloggers. If you read anything, read this. And follow through with the slideshow presentation, too. It doesn't take long. There is much to be gleaned for an approach to doing real estate in the future here. As higher education is in need of re-inventing itself, so is the real estate industry.

SMS Text Messaging for Real Estate by Peyman Aleagha on The Geek Estate Blog. Stats on the number of people using text messaging (you might be surprised) and insight into how to make use of text messaging in real estate. Great info.

I Just Don't Get Twitter - Part 1 and I Just Don't Get Twitter - Part 2 by Joel McDonald. Two more "how to's" on Twitter, that amazing technology for getting the word out about who you are and what you have to offer. But Twitter is so much more than just that. It's about connecting with people you otherwise would never connect with - and sharing in the conversation with them. It's all about "presence" online. You can have a website (and you need to have one, too), but without a social media network in place where you actually interact, who'll ever come? Don't wait another minute. Start tweeting today!
