On The Subject Of Blogging - Part 1
Tweet |
There is power in the internet and in particular, in blogging to help realtors increase their potential clientele and business. For those of you who don’t know, a blog is simply an online information page. Anyone can create a blog. (The good news is you can create one for free at: http://www.blogger.com/.) And as blogging relates to real estate, you have the example of our company blog. I post to it regularly (write articles) and then invite Sugar Pine Realty agents to come and read the latest post. You’ll also notice I’ve included relevant links of interest in the right hand column. And so the Sugar Pine Realty blog also becomes a portal to other sites on the web. The goal of all this is to generate traffic to the blog. The more traffic the better because search engines (like Google, Dogpile, etc.) give higher trafficked blogs and those that are regularly updated a higher ranking. And so let’s just say someone is looking for real estate in California. And let’s just say they do a Google search using the terms “sonora twain harte homes.” Lo and behold, the Sugar Pine Realty blog appears on the first page as the fourth choice! (Click on picture above) And so then if the person goes on to choose our blog (because they’re looking for sonora twain harte homes), when they arrive on it they will see the link at the very top that goes directly to the Sugar Pine Realty website. Thus you have the power of blogging in real estate to bring in customers. You might ask, “Why doesn’t it just work for the company website?” The difference is websites are basically “static” which means they don’t change very much. Because of this fact, websites don’t get the attention that the “dynamic” (always changing) sites do. And so how do you get this to work for you? Well, I’ll be writing that in Part 2 of this article. (Watch for it next week.) What you can do until then is you can get your own blog up and running. And then give me a call or drop me an email and I'll provide you with more secrets to increase your traffic and business through blogging.
