"Snow White" and the 7 REALTORS®
Tweet |
I've got a challenge for you: Name the seven dwarfs from Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs. (No Googling it.) I'll give you a second. Time's up. (That's a quick clock.) I got four of them right ~ Happy, Sneezy, Dopey and Grumpy ~ and then went to wikipedia. The remaining three: Doc, Sleepy and Bashful.
Okay. Now that we've established that, which dwarf are you most like? (Even if you're not a REALTOR® you can answer it.) Time's up again.
And let's just say you're probably a cross between two of them ~ one major and one minor. Like ~ you're Grumpy (major) and Sleepy (minor): Everybody's walking on eggshells around you and you can't hardly keep your eyes open watching TV at night. You? Not you?
Then maybe you're Doc (minor) and Bashful (major): You're (oh so) very smart, but then again you're afraid of your own shadow / timid / too scared to share your opinion on anything. (You hate confrontation?) Not you either?
And I guess the point I really wanted to make here by getting you to think along these lines is this: For every REALTOR® (/ person in any career or place) there's a different personality. Right?
And just digging a little deeper into the real estate motif and to take it a bit further: Snow White ~ bottom line, she needed to be rescued ~ just like the housing market. I know, I know, Prince Charming came into play with the kiss and all (I'm not portraying him as the government here either), but it was really the 7 seven dwarfs that guarded Snow White, ultimately, and kept her safe so she could eventually be saved.
So we, too, with all our "7 dwarf" differences (as REALTORS®), must stick together, support each other (it doesn't have to be a foreign concept even across competing brokerages) and see this thing through until Prince Charming arrives (the economy turns around).
(The real estate market is really about the people involved doing real estate as it is anything else.)
So who can you offer a listening ear to (a shoulder to cry on?) in this challenging time as a fellow real estate professional? Is there someone you can help lift up when they're feeling down?
