To Blog or Not To Blog, That is the Question

Okay, Sugar Pine Realty agents. Some of you have real estate blogs. But the fact is you aren't maintaining them. Am I right? This isn't meant to be a condemnation. Instead, it's meant to be a reminder to pick back up that which you started. Why? Because real estate blogs and real estate blogging can help increase your internet presence and ultimately, bring in business! That's what it's all about. But it takes time to get a real estate blog working and drawing in people. And commitment. The fact is more and more real estate inquiries are coming via the internet. And so the more your smiling face is seen on the world wide web, the better chances of those inquiries coming to you. Blogging is just one way to promote yourself online. There are many others. We've been talking to many of you about Postlets, Craig's list, vFlyer, etc. - all the free sites to promote your listings (hand-in-hand with promoting yourself). There's also ActiveRain, the real estate network which includes Localism where you can post your listings there, too. I could go on and on. Sugar Pine Realty (as a company) has been working hard and investing in online promotion. And it's paying off in traffic. And it's traffic (visitors who come to view your real estate blog or web page) that ultimately turns into listings or sales. Can you say, "traffic"? Low traffic, low potential for business from the internet. High traffic, high potential for business from the internet. (You can slap me when you see me if I'm insulting your intelligence.) Again, one of the best ways of increasing traffic is blogging. For those of you who are going to take my advice and get back to doing it, there is just so much great information on ActiveRain alone on how to optimize your site so that you appear at or near the top in search engines, it'll literally make your head spin. Click ActiveRain if you haven't signed up already. Then go visit the blogging and SEO (search engine optimization) group. There is really no reason why Sugar Pine Realty (as a whole) shouldn't be top dog online in our real estate market area. Other competing foothill brokerages are slow to lay hold of the power of blogging. Don't wait until they decide to get in. Get a leg up! Call or email me if you need any help or have questions. (P.S. To sign up for free and start blogging within minutes, click Blogger.)
