The way real estate is done continues to change. One of the changes is in the area of how documents are signed. Got paper? Throw it away. A pen or a pencil? Toss those, too. With the new technology of electronic signatures, the old technology is no longer needed. Because now a real estate professional and his/her buyer or seller is able to sign and initial listing agreements, counter offers - you name it! - from the convenience of their computers. Quite frankly, it’s a must that you visit their website: http://www.docusign.com/ so you can try it out. There’s a link on the right of DocuSign's main homepage where you can actually electronically sign a sample document. Beyond that, they have a free 7-day trial for real estate professionals so you can see just how electronic signatures work in your world. DocuSign is also set up to function in WINforms and with Transaction Point (Sugar Pine Realty’s transaction management system). And so you can literally write up a contract in WINforms, click it over to DocuSign, indicate where you need your buyer or seller’s signatures, click it over to their email, they click in their signatures and initials, click it back to you, you click it to Transaction Point - and voila! No more wasted printer ink or $4 a gallon gasoline. No more faxes that you can’t read. And no more wasting time chasing somebody down to get something signed. It’s the way of the future. And the future is now.
