On Selling a Home in Today's Market
Tweet |
This is just an excellent video interview (below) of real estate guru, Barbara Corcoran, on MSNBC earlier this month. In it she answers questions about selling in today's market. Some of things she covers include: seller no-no's, negotiating, open houses and home repairs. A few quotes of note: "When you say [your price] is firm, it's ridiculous. ...You might as well just put a big sign on your front door and nail it there that says, 'Stay away'"; "4 out of 5 times your first offer is your best offer. I don't suggest you run and grab it, but I suggest strongly that you take it seriously"; "You should think of your open house as 'Opening Night.' ...If you have an open house week in and week out it (which a lot of sellers resort to) it becomes shelf-worn, worn out. People get tired of looking at it. And people just don't come"; "You can sell any house in any market no matter what's going on provided your price is low enough and provided the buyers out there know it exists, of course." Here's the video...
