Have You Lost The Goods?
Sometimes I carry mail with me when I go jogging so when I pass by the Soulsbyville Post Office I can drop it in.
I had a single envelope with me this morning. Since it was sprinkling, I put it under my sweatshirt to keep it dry. Off I went.
While I was running the envelope slipped out and I didn't even notice it until later. So there I was, back tracking to find my Comcast bill. (I know. I know. I should just pay it online.)
Where could it possibly be? Up there. Beside that. Around this. You don't realize everything in the road that can look like an envelope from a distance. But there it was. Not too far away, I finally found it. (Thank goodness, I could tell the wife and kids we'd still have Cable TV after all.)
And I guess the point could be: Sometimes we're running along (performing our business and/or life duties) and we've "lost the goods" and we don't even know it. What I mean by "lost the goods" is we used to offer the highest level of commitment, integrity and passion to our customers and/or relationships, but we don't put out anymore (at least at that level). We've dulled. (And we expect the same return?)
Maybe it's time to back track and find what you lost.
