Waking Up As Somebody Else
Tweet |
What if you woke up tomorrow morning, but with something different about you? You woke up not as who you are. You woke up as somebody else. I'm serious. I want you to think about it. I want you to consider the possibility. Now I'm going to offer you three choices on who you could wake up as. I'm not going to tell you ahead of time what the choices are. I'm just going to offer them to you behind the following "doors" (click on your choice, then come back to read the rest of this post): Door #1, Door #2 or Door #3. (Just pick one.)
Now think about what it takes to be the person you chose. What do you wake up to each day? What don't you wake up to each day? What kind of thoughts do you have? What kind of regrets? What kind of hopes? What about your feelings about the situation you find yourself in? What about your family's feelings?
It's time to come back from being somebody else. (Click your heels three times. There.) I don't want to minimize any challenges you may be facing or going through in your real life (that you've returned to). What I do want to do is suggest there are many others who face similar hardships while there are still others who face much tougher ones (homelessness, prison, cancer, etc.). Keeping it in mind can be helpful to shouldering/dealing with our own problems ~ and overcoming them.
