What Is It About Us (Bloggers)?
(Check out the slideshare presentation of this post below.)
What is it about us? We work our "you know what's off" blogging day in and day out (or whatever your schedule happens to be). We produce content worth noticing. Right? Not that we're anything great, but hard work pays off with something worth reading. (We hope. We cross our fingers. We pray.)
And they do read. (Prayer answered.) Others do. And they like what they read. And so they come back and read some more. And they like what they read some more. And then we receive praise, pats on the back, kudos, thank you's, high fives, etc. Makes a blogger feel good. (Been there? Done that?)
That's when it happens. It comes out of nowhere.
The negative comment.
And our mood changes. Our countenance sours. Our shoulders slouch. Our hearts sink.
And then that's all we think about. Right?
The negative comment.
We lie awake at night thinking about it. We carry it through to the next day thinking about it. It haunts us. (Boo) It sometimes mocks us. (Hee hee hee) For some of us it can carry on for days.
What is it about us? Why do we allow the negative voice to drown out all the positive ones?
Stop it. Now. ;D
