Not Quite the Way They Said
Tweet |
It's happened to all of us. We're sold a "bill of goods." What I mean by that is the commercial we see on TV, the ad we read in the sidebar of Facebook ~ wherever it is ~ the marketing is mostly: "This is the best thing since sliced bread. You just gotta have it!" Right? And then we buy it. And it's never quite like the way they said.
I was reading in a real estate magazine recently. (I won't tell you the name to protect the innocent. You're probably guessing?) I came across a page that offered all these statistics that you could embed on your website or blog. I thought that was cool. So I went to the site where the stats were and found (like I've already mentioned) it wasn't quite the way they said. Oh, there was some good stuff that I could use. But some of the other stuff, the links didn't open, the graphics were blurred, etc. Do you think I'll ever go back to that site?
It's so easy to promise the moon. If we want to stay in business, we need to make sure we deliver it.
