The Craziest Injury I've Ever Had
Tweet |
What's the craziest injury you've ever had? A broken arm? (ouch) A tooth knocked out of your mouth? (ouch ouch) Stepping on glass in your bare feet? (ouch ouch OUCH)
The craziest injury I've ever had?
Well, there are a number I could choose from. Like the time when I got a nail stuck in my head. (I was in a friend's "fort" and stood up into it. I don't look so good in red.) Or the time when I dislocated my shoulder in a football game. (I was running back an interception in all my glory and they piled on me out-of-bounds.) Or the time when I fell off my bike into broken glass with my hands. (I was carrying a bag of bottles to get the money back at the store. Remember those days?)
But probably the one injury I remember the most over each of these (and so does my mom!) came in 1st grade Catholic school when the Nun slammed the door on my finger. (How it was just one finger and not my complete hand, I'll never know.) And let me just give a little context for the Nun's sake. She didn't do it on purpose (of course). It wasn't like that at all. Somehow she was going out of the room and my finger just happened to go inside the door.
And the rest is history.
To this day my finger has not healed correctly. (My mom is shaking her head if she's reading this.) Yet despite this "scar" from the past I use the finger to do a lot of cool things (including playing the guitar and banging out blog posts on the computer keyboard).
And I guess the moral of the story (beyond just not sticking your finger in doors when Nuns are around)?...
You can recover from the craziest injury. You can!
(I think even the real estate market needs to be reminded of this.)
