10 Mistakes People Make with Family (plus 1 bonus):
1. Don't spend enough time (get too busy with other things).
2. Rarely say they're sorry to each other (if at all).
3. Make mountains out of mole hills (stay in conflict over the littlest things ~ life is too short).
4. Automatically expect to NOT get along with an in-law.
5. Think their family is better than everybody else's (look down their noses at others).
6. Use the silent treatment or the cold shoulder to try to manipulate/get their own way (rather than talk it out, compromise, hear the other side).
7. Don't call home on the holidays (for whatever reason).
8. Have a hard time saying, "I love you" (say it often and say it sincerely).
9. Prefer one child over another (play favorites).
10. Don't keep theirs together no matter what (divorce too easily).
BONUS Never forgive (hold grudges).
