TOP 15 HOAXES
I came across a list of the Top 15 Web Hoaxes of All Time. You'll notice some of the list below along with the year of release and ranking (you may even remember seeing some of these):
1. The Montauk Monster (2008)
3. The Derbyshire Fairy (2006)
6. Bill Gates Wants to Give You Money (1997)
7. Giant Camel Spiders in Iraq (2004)
9. Hercules the Dog (2007)
10. Bigfoot's Body (2008)
12. The Blair Witch Project (1999)
My favorites include Hercules the Dog and Bigfoot's Body. (You can see their pictures plus view the entire list including the numbers not shown above here.)
ARE YOU A HOAX?
Now this subject of hoaxes got me to thinking.
There are people you come across in life and in and of themselves, quite literally, they are a "hoax." Know anybody like that? They're the kind that can talk up a good show and promise you the moon, but when it comes to action / following through, you can forget about it. They rarely make good (if ever).
And I guess the bottom line of it all has to do with you and me: Are we who we really present ourselves to be? Are we who we really say we are in knowledge of our industry / career and service to our customers?
Or are we a "hoax" (something intended to deceive or defraud)?
