1. Overlook the many ways it can take place (e.g. job loss, death of a loved one, home foreclosure, losing the "big game", etc).
2. Don't have a plan to cope.
3. Don't realize the depression that loss can produce (different people respond differently).
4. Forget to reach out to others for support.
5. Don't realize it's okay to feel sad (and natural).
6. Choose to drink alcohol or take drugs to numb the pain.
7. Eat junk (fast food, pizza) to cope.
8. Stay bottled up / don't talk.
