Is Hurry, Hurry, Hurry Really Productive?
We've all been around somebody who's in a hurry.
Then there are those who are always in a hurry. (Is it you?)
It's a "state of being" for some people.
The crazy thing is these "hurriers" indeed think that hurrying equates with productivity.
I mean, they need the web page to load faster. Or they need the light to change to green, snap your fingers ~ right now (so that they can get to the next red light to sit and wait for that one to change to green?).
When they're in the restaurant, it's "What's taking the waiter (or waitress) so long?" or, if they're waiting for a phone call, "Don't they know I have places to go and people to see?"
And so on and so forth.
It's their whole life: hurry, hurry, hurry (panting here like I'm out of breath). It's how some people operate.
But is it really productive?
And what if we slowed down (or at least ran at normal speed), then maybe we would still be at the place where we would meet a client, but since we were in a hurry we missed it because we were running to the next stop and so somebody else got them instead.
(Go back and read that last sentence again so that you don't miss my point.)
