Mother Lode Real Estate "Must Reads" for August

This blog post is the next in a continuing monthly series where I'll pass on some information of interest that you may not get the opportunity to see otherwise. (There are links to the other nine posts in this series at the end of this one.) It won't take you long to check out the four articles covering real estate, employer/employee relationships, twitter, etc.

Are Bomb Shelters a Hot Spot in the Real Estate Market? by the Real Estate Bloggers. It seems that bomb shelters are back in vogue and “local governments are buying them up as fast as they can be made.” Interesting read.

Seven reasons your employees hate you by Adam Kleinberg (thx @guykawasaki). The title speaks for itself. Relevant information for anyone in charge. Here are the reasons (read article for development): You don’t leave them alone; You leave them alone; You’re a twit (has to do with Twitter); You make commitments without checking; You don’t follow your own rules; You lie; You’re scary.

Google Earth Tours The Moon – Will Real Estate Be Next? by Brad Andersohn on activerain.com. Fantastic post and “how to” regarding the use of Google Earth. Brad points out nicely how this free application can easily be used to view real estate online. A must see. Definitely worth your while.

A Brief and Informal Twitter Etiquette Guide by Chris Brogan. This guide on the do's and don'ts of tweeting is a must for anyone using twitter or thinking about using it.

Any investment can be overpriced no matter how great its fundamental value or how secure its prospects. In the absence of a more thorough analysis, it's reasonable to suspect that investments in a market that has been rising for a long time are overpriced. In itself that guideline isn't a signal to sell, it is a signal to make a closer examination.
