Beating Blogger's Block (plus 11 places to get writing ideas)

So you're a blogger? (Or aspiring to be?) And you've got your blog site all set up on WordPress or Blogger or Tumblr or Posterous (maybe all four?). And you've been at it for about a week (or two or three?). And now you're hitting the proverbial "wall." (Hmm?) Now you're staring at a blank computer screen with nothing to say, write, rant about, opine on. (Ouch.)
Network newsflash (beep beep beep): You're normal. (You can sigh with relief now.) It happens to the best of them. We run out of steam. Our thoughts are just not there. We have nothing left. The gas tank is empty.
So what do we do?
I suggest going for a walk (or jog or whatever you like to do outside in the fresh air) ~ and don't think about blogging at all for a while. Or listen to music. Listen to your favorite singer, artist or band ~ and don't think about blogging at all for a while. Or look through one of those family picture albums of yours. (I'm dating myself.) Remember when you went to Disneyland or Hawaii or wherever it was that you've been ~ and don't think about blogging at all for a while.
Are you getting where I'm trying to go with this?
There's an energy that comes when we stop thinking about what to write that ends up empowering us with something to write. (It's true.)
