6 "Bonus" Mistakes Bloggers Can Make

(To listen to the podcast version, click here.)
It's been almost seven years now since I first started blogging. In that time I've written over a thousand blog posts. (1,028 to be exact.) Two of those over a thousand blog posts go by the titles: 6 Mistakes Bloggers Can Make and 6 "More" Mistakes Bloggers Can Make. I mention these two posts specifically to highlight the fact that I've made a lot of mistakes across a thousand blog posts and seven years. And so I know a lot about blogging mistakes to be able to write about them! And in honor of my 7th blogging anniversary, I'd like to do it again. I'm offering 6 "Bonus" Mistakes Bloggers Can Make (to go along with my two previous posts) as a reminder of what works and what doesn't. May it be a help to enhance your own blogging experience as well...
6 "Bonus" Mistakes Bloggers Can Make:
1. Think that writing long posts is better than writing short posts (not always).
2. (Goes along with #1) Forget that people don't have a whole lot of time to read (so "write tight" and use headlines as much as possible).
3. Only write about social media (I write about social media AND real estate AND offer life tips).
4. Do marathon writing versus writing "in sprints" (I can't remember where I read that, but it was just so good ~ How to write "in sprints"?: use a clock timer, set it to 10 minutes; write, write, write, when the bell rings you're done, repeat the process at another time).
5. Worry about what others will think about their writing/opinions/approach/ability (sometimes to the point of paralysis?).
6. See writing mistakes as a bad thing (no, no, no, you're only human and we learn the most from our mistakes, right?).
