Don't Be a Yuck
Tweet |
Have you ever poured a glass of milk and then gone to take a sip and - yuck! - discovered it had gone sour? There's not much more you can do except pour it down the sink (and the carton it came from). Right?
And it seems that at the mere mention of certain person's names, it's like drinking sour milk (yuck). And you may have even just had a name of a particular person in your sphere of influence that just came to your mind that fits this mold.
And was it because you were wronged by them in some way?
Or maybe they were just plain deceptive and conniving in a business deal and now this is how you think about them, "I'm gonna avoid working with that person again if it's the last thing I do!"
Is there anyone like that in your life?
It goes without saying that we don't want to be that kind of person that when our names are mentioned it makes everybody say, "Yuck!"
And I guess this is where the Golden Rule could apply: Treat others like you would want to be treated.
That seems simple enough.
Would you want somebody to drop the ball on you? Then don't drop the ball on somebody else.
Would you want somebody to be deceptive and conniving towards you? Then don't be deceptive and conniving towards somebody else.
It's what separates the good people from the bad. And, in the long run, it's the good people that most often come out ahead.
