Lightning fast read meant to make you think...
10 Mistakes People Make with Teenagers (plus 1 bonus):
1. Forget their hormones are on overload.
2. Overlook the tremendous peer pressure teenagers are under.
3. Think that threats and yelling are helpful in changing teenage behavior (never works).
4. Don't follow through on discipline when teenagers break the rules (be merciful, too).
5. Forget teenagers are trying out their wings and testing the waters of independence (give them room / let go).
6. Are surprised when teenagers get in trouble (it will happen).
7. Don't realize the affect the barrage of media and Hollywood has on teenagers.
8. Are in the denial of the fact of teenagers' susceptibility to depression and suicide.
9. Turn teenagers loose on social media with little guidance, oversight and accountability.
10. Don't realize they will be out on their own before you know it so enjoy them while you can.
BONUS Throw up their hands and give up while thinking there is no hope for teenagers to ever turn out right (you came through the process okay, didn't you?).
