Lightning fast read meant to make you think...
10 Mistakes People Make with Competition (plus 1 bonus):
1. Rule out competition since they perceive it to penalize the weak.
2. Overlook how competing is a breeding ground for greatness.
3. Forget there indeed is an unhealthy form of competition.
4. Forget there is just as much to learn from losing (maybe more) as there is from winning.
5. Overlook the apathy that a lack of competition fosters.
6. Fail to notice that it really is the best way to distinguish the cream of the crop from the pretenders.
7. Don't realize that you can still be a "winner" even when you lose (in attitude, in lessons learned, etc).
8. Try to eliminate competition in as many areas as possible (e.g. California law allows for diplomas even if high school seniors don't pass the test).
9. Stack the deck so it's impossible for anyone to break through the status quo.
10. Are always competing in everything (there is a time to stop).
BONUS See it as a way of injuring another rather than elevating.
