1. Don't stretch beforehand.
2. Try to run a marathon the first day.
3. Run with an injury.
4. Forget to wear bright clothes especially at night or early morning (so others can see them).
5. Don't bring a cell phone (just in case of an emergency).
6. Overlook running with a partner.
7. Do it in extreme heat.
8. Do it in extreme cold.
9. Don't plan for wild animals (e.g. pit bulls) - maybe you should carry a stick?
10. Forget it's okay to miss a day (don't get obsessed).
BONUS Forget to protect their skin with sunscreen.
