10 Mistakes People Make with Millennials (plus 1 bonus):
1. Don't realize their age range (1976-2000 ~ give or take).
2. Overlook how Millennials are referred to as the Y generation, also (since they come right on the heels of Generation X).
3. Wonder why they have so many participant trophies (no one wanted them to feel bad losing).
4. Don't realize they are close to 25% of the U.S. population (at 77 million).
5. Overlook that Millennials grew up with the Internet and technology (much like Boomers who grew up with TV).
6. Don't realize the reason behind why they think they are "special" (because their Dad and Mom and kindergarten teacher told them so).
7. Don't realize they have surpassed both the Boomer and X-er Generations and are now the largest generation in the U.S. work force.
8. Overlook that 85%+ of Millennials own a smart phone and touch them approximately 45 times a day.
9. Think they get their news from ABC, CBS and NBC (no, they get their news from Facebook, Twitter and YouTube).
10. Don't realize they are the best-educated group of young adults in U.S. history.
BONUS Overlook tragic events they've experienced (e.g. Columbine shooting, death of princess Diana, World Trade Center attacks).
